Festivals and musical events all summer long in Luxembourg
Throughout the summer, festivals and other musical events will delight our senses: events and concerts will punctuate our weekends and evenings in Luxembourg.
Luxembourg Open Air Festival
The musical season kicks off on May 9 and 10, 2025, with the LOA Season Opening Festival. In the incredible setting of the Belval blast furnaces, dance to the sound of electronic music provided by a dozen DJs.
The LOA will also close the season with the LOA Season Closing on Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13, at the Metzeschmelz industrial site, located between Esch-sur-Alzette and Schifflange. Electro music fans can end their summer with music and good vibes.

Gare Grooves
Luxembourg train station welcomes travelers throughout the summer with musical entertainment on Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a festive and gourmet moment in an unusual setting.
Plëss in Concert
The bandstand on Place d'Armes will come alive from May 16 to September 7, 2025, with a wide variety of concerts: brass bands, jazz music, and other more classical or lively styles. Enjoy the pretty terraces of Place d'Armes with this "Plëss in Concert" event. Ideal for an aperitif with family or friends!

Francofolies in Esch-sur-Alzette
Join the 25,000 festival-goers at the Francofolies in Esch-sur-Alzette in the Parc du Galgebierg. Attendconcerts by French-speaking artists from June 6 to 8, 2025. Every year , the trendy city of Esch-sur-Alzette welcomes French-speaking artists for this major open-air festival: the Francofolies. Consider giving a ticket to Mammendag as a gift. The whole family will love going!
Urban Piano and Music Festival
The Urban Piano musical event transforms passersby into street musicians for a moment. The 10th edition will take place from May 15 to June 17, 2025.
The unmissable Fête de la Musique will then take over. You can enjoy free concerts and musical entertainment in the capital and throughout Luxembourg from June 13 to 21, 2025.
City Sounds of Luxembourg
The summer will continue with music with free concerts from City Sounds on June 22 and 23, 2025. As part of the National Day celebrations, DJ sets and local and international bands will set the Champ du Glacis in Limpertsberg alight.
LuxExpo Open Air
LuxExpo will once again welcome thousands of festival-goers for crazy nights with international headliners. Kinnekswiss loves

On July 19, 2025, the Blues'n Jazz Rallye will enchant the old neighborhoods of Pfaffenthal, Clausen, and Grund. E-Lake Festival in Echternach
Finally, Lake Echternach will welcome festival-goers from August 8 to 10 for pop, rock, hip-hop, and techno concerts in a bucolic setting.
Visit iconic venues in a festive atmosphere
The Philharmonie Luxembourg is not to be outdone with its End-of-Season Party, which will feature 12 hours of non-stop music on July 5, 2025, in a prestigious setting with a 2,500 m² dance floor.
The Belval blast furnaces will also be celebrating on July 5 with incredible shows of all kinds. Don't miss a visit to the blast furnaces, or even the big zip line. Thrills guaranteed!
The traditional " Concerts de Midi" delight classical music lovers and others all year round, every Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. During the summer, the "Concerts de Midi" move to the gardens of the Villa Vauban. The Villa Vauban and the Letzebuerg City Museum are joining forces to offer a moment of relaxation in the magnificent gardens of the Villa Vauban from July 16 to August 14.
Vianden Castle will host the Medieval Festival from July 26 to August 3, bringing this historic site back to life in the days of knights with more than 100 extras. Medieval music, street performers, period market, etc.
The Rotondes' "Congés annulés" (Cancelled Holidays) should also appeal to a wide audience from July 25 to August 21, 2025. With family aperitifs, exhibitions, and DJ sets, you won't regret spending your August in Luxembourg!
Festivities and entertainment
In terms of entertainment for all ages, the traditional "Garer Kiermes" fair will be held from June 20 to July 6 on Place de Paris in the Gare district.
The National Day on June 22 and 23 will add to the festive atmosphere in the Luxembourg capital. Family attractions , food stands, and, above all, the fireworks display on June 22 will delight young and old alike during these traditional celebrations in honor of the Grand Duke.
From July 4 to September 17, the Gelle Fra on Place de la Constitution will welcome residents and tourists alike for a series of festive events, including concerts and DJ sets, food stalls, a pétanque area, water games, and a library as part of the D'Stad liest event.
The Bonnevoie district will take over with its fair from July 11 to 15, 2025, on Place Jeanne d'Arc. Fairs are an excellent opportunity to socialize with neighbors and enjoy a friendly and festive atmosphere.
The traditional Schueberfouer, eagerly awaited by all, will take place as usual on the Champ du Glacis! This year, it will be held from August 22 to September 10, 2025.
The "Kanner in the City" event will delight children and families on August 1 and 2, 2025. For the occasion, the capital will be transformed into a giant playground with activities for children in various locations throughout the city:
- August 1 and 2: Place d'Armes, Place Guillaume II, and Square Jean Palach
- August 2: Place des Capucins, Place du Puis Rouge, and Place Hamilius at the tram stop.
In addition, we hope that Parc de Merl will once again welcome sailboats to its pond. Something to delight all young freshwater sailors!
Sports activities... or not
The most active and athletic are not forgotten during the summer months. Numerous sporting activities await them. The Kinnekswiss in Luxembourg offers both sporting activities and relaxation. The Villa Vauban also offers various activities in the park.
Jogging in Luxembourg
Don't miss the JP Morgan City Jogging event on July 6, 2025, where you can run or walk through the city of Luxembourg. Children aged 5 and up can participate.
Luxembourg Pride Run
Luxembourg Pride Week will take place this year from July 5 to 13, 2025, in Luxembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette. As part of this event, the Luxembourg Pride Run will be organized by the City of Luxembourg and ING Bank, which already initiated the Luxembourg Marathon. Throughout Pride Week in Luxembourg, the LGBTIQ+ cause will be highlighted in order to promote open-mindedness and inclusion for all.
The Luxembourg Pride Run also aims to defend the rights of LGBTIQ+ people. Everyone can take part, even those who are not particularly athletic. Participants can run the course twice at their own pace.
The Pride Run is organized by the Rosa Lëtzebuerg ASBL association, which is very active on all LGBTIQ+ issues.
Vëlosummer: cycle along Luxembourg's roads
In addition, the summer event "Vëlosummer" allows everyone to take their bikes and ride along marked trails and roads in Luxembourg. Some roads are even closed for the occasion! This new eco-friendly tourism event will run from July 19 to August 24, 2025 for this new edition.
Live broadcast of women's soccer matches
The European Women's Football Championship matches will be broadcast live from July 16 to 27 on the Champ du Glacis in the Limpertsberg district. Entertainment and food stands.
For a relaxing beach atmosphere, the Place du Théâtre will once again be furnished with deckchairs and parasols.
Summer arts activities in Luxembourg
Open-air cinema with the City Open Air Cinema
As every year, the cinema will also be taking up its summer quarters. Want to revisit some classic films or blockbusters? Then enjoy an unusual setting in the heart of the city and under the open sky. See you this summer in Luxembourg in the magnificent setting of Place Guillaume II in Luxembourg from July 24 to 31.
The films are shown in their original language with subtitles.
Screenings take place at 9:30 p.m. every evening. They will go ahead even in the event of rain. Plastic raincoats will be provided in case of bad weather. Food and refreshments will also be available for a complete cinema experience.

Outdoor painting and sculpture exhibitions
Konscht Am Gronn takes place on the first Sunday of every month until October. Take advantage of this event to stroll through the streets of the Grund district and admire the works of local artists. You'll find paintings, but also digital art, ceramics, woodwork, and photography.
Reading and book fairs
If you're a comic book fan, don't miss the Comic Book Festival in Contern on July 19 and 20, 2025.
And reading will not be forgotten either. "D'Stad liest" offers visitors to the Place de la Constitution an open-air library with readings aloud. This event in Luxembourg City will take place in late August/early September.
There will also be shopping events for fashionistas, including the summer sales from June 27 to July 26, 2025.
The Grande Braderie de Luxembourg is scheduled to take place in early September. The date is yet to be confirmed.
Flea market enthusiasts will also be delighted with the garage sales on the Champ du Glacis every first Sunday of the month from April to October. Don't miss the flea markets on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month on the Place d'Armes in Luxembourg.
