Sources RosportGeneral

As a local producer of natural mineral water in Luxembourg, Sources Rosport strives for continuous improvement in quality. The company achieves this by scrupulously respecting the environment and a series of eco-responsible values.

Sources Rosport water and fruit juices produced in Luxembourg

Founded in 1959, Sources Rosport S.A. draws mineral water from a naturally carbonated spring, Rosport Classic, a strongly sparkling water, and Rosport Blue, a lightly sparkling water, as well as from a natural non-carbonated mineral water spring, Viva.

The Rosport product range is complemented by a drink made from its sparkling spring water mixed with apple juice, Rosport Pom's, as well as its Rosport mat range, an assortment of its naturally sparkling water, flavored with lemon, lime, mint and grapefruit, and finally with a range of still water mixed with 5% orange, lemon-lime or peach juice.

The pursuit of excellence by a 100% Luxembourg company

The mission of this SME, with 100% Luxembourgish capital, is not only to attract thousands of consumers with the unique taste of its waters, their rich and balanced mineral salt composition and the variety of its products, but also to emphasize the pursuit of excellence. Respect for the environment, social responsibility, and workplace safety are an integral part of the corporate culture—efforts that have been recognized with ISO certifications and other labels.

A natural commitment to respecting our environment

For years,Sources Rosport S.A. has sought to minimize greenhouse gas emissions and make environmentally responsible management decisions. For example, its decision not to export its products has a positive impact on the company's carbon footprint. The distance traveled from the source to consumers, and therefore CO2 emissions, are thus reduced to a minimum.

In the same vein, Sources Rosport has reassessed the distances between its various suppliers' sites and its production site in Rosport in order to also reduce the emission rates associated with the transport of raw materials.

Eco-responsible initiatives and closed-loop recycling

Sources Rosport offers returnable glass bottles in various sizes, as well as PET bottles to compete with major international brands. In order to meet demand while remaining true to its convictions, efforts have been underway since 2011.

Rosport bottles made from recycled PET

With this in mind, Sources Rosport initially sought to reduce the amount of PET in its bottles and achieved a saving of 37 tons in the year of the change.

The company then focused on the recycled PET content, known as "rPET," of its bottles. Currently, Rosport Viva, Rosport Blue, and Rosport mat bottles are made from 50% rPET. Rosport Classic bottles are made from 25% rPET and 75% Bio PET, a PET derived from sugar cane.

With the launch of the new Rosport Sunny product , Sources Rosport now offers a bottle made from 100% recycled PET (rPET). This is a turning point for the company, which is committed to replacing all containers in its range with 100% rPET.

Respect for a circular economy for Rosport bottles

In line with the principle of the circular economy, in 2014 the company signed an agreement with Valorlux and Plastipak LuxPET. This agreement guarantees that Sources Rosport PET bottles collected are reintroduced into the recycling circuit after use, to be turned into new PET bottles, among other things.

It is also with this in mind that Sources Rosport has decided not to export its products, so that it can operate within a closed-loop system, in the hope that each of its bottles can be recycled indefinitely.

You can find Sources Rosport water in Luxembourg restaurants and bars or when you go shopping.
