Media: staying informed and entertained

Find the main media outlets in Luxembourg to keep up to date with life, news, and major events in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Greater Region, or more broadly in Europe and around the world.

Due to the multiplicity of nationalities and cultural diversity present in Luxembourg, there are many media outlets specific to each community. Here we will only mention the main newspapers and radio stations, which broadcast in the country's main languages: Luxembourgish, German, French, English, and Portuguese.

Print and electronic media in Luxembourg

Daily newspapers are available in print at newsstands (KIOSK stores), but can also be accessed directly on the internet. You can also subscribe to their email newsletters.

A diverse and multilingual media ecosystem

The press was traditionally published in German. In recent years, with the arrival of many immigrants, it has diversified into other languages beyond the other official languages such as French and Luxembourgish. Today, there are also many English-language media outlets such as Delano and the Luxembourg Times, as well as Portuguese-language newspapers such as Contacto and other less common and more community-based languages.

A press supported by subsidies

The Luxembourg government plays an active role in supporting the print media. Subsidies are granted to newspapers and magazines to ensure diversity of opinion and the sustainability of the sector. This support reflects a strong commitment to maintaining a free press that is accessible to all.
