Do you enjoy sporting challenges? Join the runners and walkers who take to the streets of Luxembourg City every year. You too can tackle the many stairs, hills, and forest trails of the Grand Duchy's capital. Are you a Nordic walker, a runner, or just a walker? There's an urban trail and a sporting route for everyone! Beyond the real sporting challenge that this unique event represents , the DKV Urban Trail is a magnificent race. It leaves no participant indifferent. Year after year, the number of enthusiasts is growing. More than 5,000 participants criss-cross the streets of the capital. They tackle the magnificent courses, which can be chosen according to their sporting level and their taste for challenge.

See the city of Luxembourg in a different light

The DKV Urban Trail is also an opportunity to discover the city of Luxembourg in a different way. By participating in the race, you will see the capital's iconic neighborhoods and pass by all the historic, unusual, and exceptional sites: the Grand Ducal Palace, the Bock Casemates, the Vauban fortifications, Neumunster Abbey, Fort Thungen, MUDAM, the European buildings, the Luxembourg Philharmonic, ... The course is varied and runners enjoy a joyful and friendly atmosphere.

Highlights of this unforgettable race in Luxembourg

Runners set off from the Cité Judiciaire in the Ville-Haute district to explore the streets of the historic city and descend to the lower town of Grund, as well as Clausen. They also climb numerous stairs and tackle the formidable climb through the forest to the European district of Kirchberg, before descending to the city center through the Vauban fortifications. For us, it was the unforgettable journey through the dark Pfaffenthal tunnel, guided by the sound of drums, that we will remember most. And what can we say about the endless climb back to the finish line at the Cité Judiciaire? In short, it was an epic adventure! But what a feeling of joy at the end! A personal challenge and such an incredible way to visit the beautiful city of Luxembourg! In any case, the DKV Urban Trail is an unforgettable sporting event in a magnificent setting. Our favorite! All you have to do is choose the number of kilometers you are ready to tackle.

DKV Urban Trail is looking for volunteers

Sports courses for all levels at the DKV Urban Trail

Starting from the Plateau Saint Esprit, several endurance courses are available for athletes, taking advantage of the city's elevation.

Nordic walking

On Saturday, three Nordic walks of 5, 10, and 18 km await walkers, with staggered starts between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Traditional races

On Sunday, it's time for the runners:

• Les Traces de Vauban 13 km, individual race: Les Traces de Vauban is the DKV's classic race. There are three staggered starts from 12 p.m.
• Dans les Pas de Mélusine (In the Footsteps of Mélusine) 18 km, individual race or team run with 3 teammates,
• Le Trail des Forts, 27 km, individual race, starting at 11 a.m.
• La GranDucale, 34 km, individual race, starting at 10:40 a.m. This race will take you to Hespérange.

In addition, Mini Trails are also available for younger runners: 900 meters for 6-8 year olds and 1,600 meters for 9-12 year olds. The awards ceremony will take place from 2 p.m. A childcare service is available for runners and their companions. Is this your first race of the season?
